Levitt Summer Program Guide:

Earth Heroes: Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:00-2:30: Get outside and explore, garden, and discover what great things await you in the great outdoors!

Junior Achievement: Mondays, 1:30-2:15: Learn all about managing money and running a business. You even get your very own checkbook! The program will conclude with a field trip to Junior Achievement’s BizTown—an awesome experience. Limited to 20 members.

Explore the Parks: Every other Monday starting June 28, 3:00-4:30: Explore Des Moines City Parks. While at the parks club members will engage in fun and games. There is a $5 fee to join this activity. Limited to 13 Club members.

Art: Tuesdays, 2:45-3:30: Let your creative juices flow while you create cool arts and crafts. Also, enjoy field trips to places such as the Des Moines Art Center, the Des Moines Sculpture Park, and the Olsen Larsen Gallery. There is additional $2 field trip fee for each field trip.

Hiking Club: Tuesdays June 22-August 3, 2:00-4:00: Hit the trails and get some exercise while you surround yourself with nature. Members will hike different trails in and around the Des Moines area. There is a $5 fee to join this activity. Limited to 13 club members.

Outdoor/Nature Activities: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:30-2:15: Get outside and play! Members will engage in fun hands-on activities in the great outdoors.

Literacy Club: Wednesdays, 2:30-3:15: Sit down and relax with a good book and earn points for every book your read! Points can be redeemed for cool prizes.

Computer Club: Wednesdays, 3:30-4:15: Learn how to navigate and use a computer. Limited to 10 club members—you MUST attend every session.

Creative Writing: Thursdays, 2:45-3:30: Members will write poetry, creative stories, reader’s theater, and participate in numerous journaling activities. Each member will receive their very own journal. Limited to 15 club members.

SMART Girls: Thursdays, 3:00-4:30: For girls going into 4th and 5th grades. Enjoy quality time with other girls as you engage in fun activities, lessons, and field trips. Limited to 20 members.

Theatre: Fridays, 1:30-2:30: Become a star! Members will enjoy theatre games, reader’s theatre, and will produce and perform their very own play! Members will also take several field trips to see live theatre performances. Limited to 20 members.

Fishing Club: Fridays July 9- August 13, 10:00-12:00: Learn how to fish. Members will travel to ponds and lakes in the Des Moines area where they will learn how to fish under the guidance of a certified fishing instructor. Poles and bait are provided for the members. There is a $5 fee for the program. Limited to 15 members.
