BGCCI's Record-Breaking Event Honored Ellie Glazer Ziegler

Last month, we broke records with our Old Bags is Back luncheon, raising more than $618,000 to support Des Moines kids and teens!

Led by Des Moines philanthropist and BGCCI trustee, Suzie Glazer Burt, the event honored her sister, Ellie Glazer Ziegler, and their family’s legacy of supporting our organization for three generations. In honor of Ellie’s compassion and generosity, Suzie Glazer Burt created the Ellie Challenge, in which all funds raised by the Old Bags is Back event were matched by the Michael and Ellie Glazer Ziegler Foundation.

This year’s Old Bags is Back event funded our Feeding the Future program to ensure kids and teens in Des Moines have access to food and other basic needs. The program provides consistent, nutritious snacks and meals during Club time, take home food bags, and access to Club pantries.

We are incredibly grateful for each and every community member, sponsor, & volunteer who made this year's Old Bags is Back such a success. Thank you for being a part of this amazing day for our community.
