KLN Summer Fest Benefits BGCCI

For the first year, local Des Moines bar, Kelly’s Little Nipper, hosted the KLN Summer Fest on Saturday, June 5, benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa. The festival featured three of the bar’s most popular performers, Jake Schrodt, Whiskey Bizkit and Leight July.

Attendees enjoyed a full day of music, a free beer, and a Kelly’s koozie, while helping raise money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa and the community’s youth.

“BGCCI does so many great things, we just wanted to do our part. KLN Summer Fest is a fun way that involves more of the community around Kelly’s,” said Jeff Stark, owner of Kelly's Little Nipper.

The festival was a day-long affair with Kelly’s cooks outside cooking up burgers, hot dogs and brats, while bartenders served up cold drinks and held raffles throughout the day.

“Jeff and the Kelly’s community have been longtime supporters of the Boys & Girls Clubs,” said Tony Timm, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa. “Not only do they raise critical funds for our Club kids, but they’ve been amazing friends. We’re grateful to them for putting on this fun event.”
