Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa Announces Service Changes Effective February 15
DES MOINES, Iowa—February 5, 2021—Following Des Moines Public School’s announcement making 100% in-person or virtual learning options available on February 15, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa (BGCCI) is shifting services to accommodate the updated return to learn plan.
Beginning on February 15, 2021, BGCCI Clubs will return to providing after school programming hours only. The Levitt Club at Carver Elementary, Ross Club at Moore Elementary and Burt Club at Drake University will operate from 2:35 p.m. to 6 p.m. Huskies Club located at Meredith Middle School, McCombs Club at McCombs Middle School, Baker Club located at Hiatt Middle School and E.T. Meredith Jr. Club located near East High School will operate from 3:25 to 6 p.m.
“Throughout the last year, our Clubs have remained flexible to meet the needs of our kids. With our shifts to accommodate the changes in return to learn plans, our organization has served 49 additional schools in the metro area beyond our Club sites,” said Tony Timm, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa CEO. “Offering substantive programming, highly trained staff and a safe environment to meet the needs of our area youth will continue to be our organization’s top priority,” said Timm.
