GIVING CLUBS

Join a Giving Club

By joining a Giving Club at Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa, you will be part of a unique group of community leaders dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the youth who need us the most by ensuring that the resources they need are available today and in the future.

Hope Creators Club

Hope Creators are individuals who make a gift of $500+ annually.

BGCCI is the leading advocate for Des Moines area youth because of your assistance. We offer substantive programming and a highly trained staff to address any and all needs of a child, help them recognize their full potential, and grow into healthy and thriving adults. How does your Hope Creator participation make a difference?

  • $500 sponsors a Club kid for the summer

  • $1,200 sponsors a Club kid for the entire year—including the full school year and summer

  • The Club experience provides academic enrichment to combat summer learning loss

  • Indoor and outdoor activities for kids help them to stay fit and healthy

  • Consistent support of caring adult mentors provides our kids stability and consistency

Opportunity Makers Club

Opportunity Makers are individuals who make a gift of $1,500+ annually.

More than 20,000 Des Moines area youth lack basic needs, such as adequate nutrition and medical care, and are in need of additional support. With your help, we can fill in the gaps, providing holistic care to our Club kids and families including meal and food assistance.

  • A gift of $100 provides 30 hot meals.

  • BGCCI serves nearly 2,600 kids across the Des Moines metro and almost all rely on food assistance.

  • More than 77 percent of school-age children in Des Moines schools are part of free or reduced lunch programs, so ensuring kids have access to food is a big concern

  • Before the COVID-19 pandemic, households with children were nearly 1.5 times more likely to experience food insecurity than households without children.

  • With COVID-19 now keeping children out of school, many don’t have access to school lunches or food during the day.

Breaking Barriers Club

Individuals in our Breaking Barriers Club make a gift of $10,000+ annually.

For many Des Moines area youth, thriving in the world today requires support and nurturing outside of the family dynamic. With your Breaking Barriers contribution, BGCCI provides a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every child is welcome no matter their background or current situation.

We recognize the impact of systematic racism and believe all youth should feel safe, have access to equal opportunities, and feel valued in Club and our communities.

Real change comes through actions and willingness to stand up to injustices that perpetuate the cycle of poverty.

By joining the Breaking Barriers Club, you can make a difference in the lives of many families in the community through programming, resources, and opportunities for every child at BGCCI.
