You can make a difference in the lives of Des Moines youth by becoming a volunteer.
We believe volunteers are the heart and soul of every community, and it is this spirit of giving that inspires action. Your investment of time is important, and we thank you for making our Club members and families a priority.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, to ensure the highest health and safety protocols for our members and staff, as well as our partners and volunteers, we are currently limiting volunteer engagement in our Clubs. We have suspended all in-person Club volunteer opportunities at this time. If you are still interested in volunteering in-person at our Clubs in the future, please continue with the process below and we will connect with you. Otherwise, please continue to check back with us for updates on available volunteer opportunities. We appreciate your consideration, and we look forward to connecting with you soon! Please see additional out-of-club volunteer opportunities available now below!
We are seeking volunteers for our Refuel Station, Monday - Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.! The Refuel Station is a mobile food pantry partnership between BGCCI and DMARC Food Pantry Network to provide healthy, kid-friendly,
grab-n-go food items. The Refuel Station visits all seven BGCCI club locations across Greater Des Moines every week.
Volunteers will help set up the station including taking out and wiping down tables to display fresh fruit. Volunteers will also help run the station, directing kids on how to move through the truck to receive food, talk to kids about healthy options and how to make a simple snack into a more fulfilling option, help pack bags of food and documenting food distribution. Click below to volunteer!
We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available at each of our eight Club sites and administrative office to match our volunteers’ interests and skills. We do not accept court-ordered community service.
