Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa is committed to generating positive outcomes for our youth. We use the national Formula for Impact to implement and measure development outcomes.
The national Formula for Impact defines specific strategies to increase quality programming for three priority outcomes: Academic Success, Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.
We are implementing a Club Experience filled with life-changing programs, fun, enriching activities, and supportive relationships with peers and caring adults. The combination of these critical elements enables and empowers Club youth to achieve positive outcomes.
What makes Boys & Girls Clubs unique?
SERVING KIDS WHO NEED US MOST
Our sites are intentionally located in resource-constrained neighborhoods, allowing us to create pathways to bridge the opportunity gap that exists between lower-income and higher-income communities.
VARIETY OF SERVICES
We offer a wide variety of services and programs to appeal to different ages, interests, and needs of youth. This variety exposes youth to new opportunities and makes it possible for kids to find a “spark” that ignites a passion for learning.
MEETING COMPREHENSIVE NEEDS
We focus on the needs and development of the whole child through services that are offered year-round, extending from the school day into the evening and throughout the summer.
Although we are nationally recognized, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa is locally run—allowing every site to be responsive to the specific needs of the neighborhood and youth served.
COLLABORATIVE IN OUR COMMUNITY
We have a history of collaborating with other community agencies, schools, and businesses. Our partners help us enhance existing programs, offer new programs, share community resources, and increase the number of trained professionals and volunteers supporting our Clubs.
TESTED AND PROVEN PROGRAMS
Intentional programming, evaluation, and continuous improvement are essential to ensuring a positive impact.
INNOVATIVE AND ADAPTIVE
We have the ability to quickly adopt new programs, provide new opportunities for youth, or develop partnerships and services based on specific needs. We are always open to trying new things to benefit the kids.
