HOW DO I REGISTER?A membership application must be filled out completely online at TraxSolutions. Registration is on a first come, first served basis and must include the required paperwork and membership fee. Please contact the Club site where you wish to register your child here.

ARE THERE ANY MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS?A completed membership application, immunization records (for Burt Club members), and payment is due upon registration. The Club site also will require enrollment at the school the Club location shares. Current Clubs taking applications from other community schools: E.T. Meredith Jr. Club and Gregory & Suzie Glazer Burt Club.

WHAT IS THE COST?Membership fees are income-based for all elementary school sites. Membership fees at our middle and high school sites is $25 for the entire school year, and free in the summer. Please speak to the Site Coordinator or Pathway Director of the Club directly.

DO YOU ACCEPT CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE?Yes! We have four licensed child care facilities: Burt Club, Levitt Club, Ross Club, and Studebaker Club. Those are the only sites able to accept Child Care Assistance as payment for membership fees.

WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD BRING WITH THEM TO CLUB?Club members are encouraged to bring homework, sports clothing, and any other necessary items for programmatic participation. Youth should not bring personal belongings of value or money into the Club, including electronics. If it is a special circumstance, they can ask Club staff to lock up the item while they are at the Club and then collect the item upon departure. We ask that parents/guardians are mindful of this as we only have so much space. BGCCI is not responsible or liable for lost, misplaced, stolen, or missing items.

DO YOU PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION?We do not currently provide transportation. Members enrolled at our Burt Club are transported from Greenwood Elementary, King Elementary, Perkins Elementary, Callanan Middle, and Harding Middle during school days only.

DO THE CLUBS HAVE SUMMER PROGRAMS?Yes, we do! Normally, all of our Clubs are open for Summer Club Programming, all day, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at elementary sites, including Burt Club, and 8:30am to 5:30 pm at middle and high school sites. However, this can change based on community necessity and safety.

DO YOU PROVIDE MEALS/SNACKS?After school programming does provide snacks and a dinner meal for all students. During summer programming, we partner with DMPS to provide breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. USDA Non-Discrimination Statement.

WHAT IS YOUR CLOSURE POLICY?The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa schedule will mimic that of the Des Moines Public Schools regarding closures for inclement weather. In the event that Des Moines Public Schools cancels classes before the school day begins, we will close all Club locations. In the event that Des Moines Public Schools close early or cancel evening activities, Club locations will also close. Clubs observe the following minimum closures for staff training, Club maintenance, and/or staff holidays: · One week during winter break, between the fall and spring semester · One week between the spring semester and the start of summer · All major US holidays · Clubs may close for additional dates, as needed. Clubs will post all closures and notify families in advance
