Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa Announces Leadership Transition

Des Moines, Iowa — April 27, 2026

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa (BGCCI) today announced that Chief Executive Officer Tony Timm has stepped down from his role, effective April 23, 2026, following a tenure marked by meaningful program growth and deepened community partnerships.

"Tony's leadership has left a lasting mark on our organization and the young people we serve," said Jerry Brantley, Chair of the Board of Directors. "He strengthened our programs, forged critical community partnerships, and helped position the Clubs for long-term success. We are deeply grateful for his dedication to our mission and wish him well in his next chapter."

Proven Leader Steps In as Interim CEO

The Board of Directors has appointed Tanner Krause as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective April 27, 2026. Krause brings both deep roots in the organization and significant executive experience to the role. He has served as a BGCCI volunteer and Board Member for nine years, sits on the Board at the University of Iowa's Tippie College of Business, and recently served as President and CEO of Kum & Go Convenience Stores.

"I joined the BGCCI Board within months of returning to Des Moines nearly a decade ago, and I am committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure the long-term success of this organization. A strong community depends on a strong Boys & Girls Club."

Search for Permanent CEO Underway

The Board's Executive Committee has launched a formal search for BGCCI's next Chief Executive Officer. The Board remains focused on ensuring a seamless leadership transition and a strong future for the organization.
