Join us March 25, 2022, as we honor three incredible Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa teens - Sierra, Cruz, and Delanee.
Youth of the Year honors the nation's most awe-inspiring young people on their path to great futures and encourages all kids to lead, succeed and inspire. This prestigious scholarship competition asks teens to compose essays and a speech detailing their Club experience, personal brand, and plan for the future.
Youth then present their work in front of community judges for the chance to win scholarship dollars to fund their future higher education. Younger Club members are able to compete as Junior Youth of the Year contestants to prepare for future participation in the Senior division.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa's Great Futures Society connects young professionals from various industries and neighborhoods in the greater Des Moines metro to support and mentor Youth of the Year scholarship applicants and prepare them for the annual competition.
